Points into gift cards at 50% off worthwhile?

Got an email from Best Western with this deal:

CYBER MONDAY SPECIAL (November 29-30, 2015): Get a $25 Best Western Gift Card for ˝ the points!

http://www.bestwestern.com/rewards/redeem/detail.asp?id=25TC600-P&pv=6000&category=GIFT%20CARD&name=$25USD%20BW%20 Travel%20Card&cm_mmc=BWR-_-CyberMon%20-_-Links&sob=BWREC

Is this worthwhile?

I received the same email.

3000 points for a $25 giftcard seems to be better value than redeeming points for stays. My benchmark for bestwestern is about 18000 points for a room selling at around $100 or so a night.

Do these gift cards have an expiry date?

So these $25 GC are normally 6,000 points?

It seems a decent deal.

Do they count as "spend" when redeeming at BW locations, earning fresh points?

Should I anticipate any problems stacking up multiple of them at front desk for payment?

[Update: ordered 10 of them]

I too ordered 10. I poked around at several properties and looked at cash vs points. This is a solid deal and yields a better exchange than 95% of the places I looked at.

I looked at the travel card FAQ's. Doesn't look like there is an expiration date.

Thanks for posting that link. I couldn't have done it without you! An early Christmas present from a complete stranger.

Directly from the e-mail with the travel card number:

"Your $25 Best Western Travel Card® never expires and is good at any Best Western® branded hotel worldwide. To redeem, just give the Travel Card number below to the front desk at check-in".

The big question is the exchange rate any good? I will be using domestically to avoid the potentially poor exchange rate.

It means, the physical plastic card will not be forthcoming, just email card numbers are sufficient, right.

I have ordered travel cards before over the years when Best Western discounted the points. I never had a problem using them and as the offer said they don't expire. In California, gift cards can't have expiration dates. I wish I would not have missed this offer!

I placed an order using the link showing 3000 points. My order confirmation mentioned my points balance reduced by 6000

The offer had a time limit, when did you place the order?
