This has to be the worst BRG program ever.

Telling me booking.com isn't "publicly viewable" and promotional rates are not eligible.

Dear ,
Thank you for contacting Best Western International.
We have processed your Low Rate Guarantee Claim. Unfortunately we regret to inform you that the claim has been denied for the following reason:
The competing rate must be publicly viewable and bookable via the internet at the time the claim is reviewed by a Best Western Customer Care Specialist. A viewable rate means that the general public can view the rate on the website. A bookable rate means that the rate is available and can be reserved online.
We were unable to view the rate listed on the site.
However all the rates on Booking.com were not eligible with higher original maount strikethrough as discounted rate.
Our terms and conditions read as follows:
Affinity Partnership, Association, Corporate, Group, Negotiated, Package
(e.g. those including flight, car, etc.), Wholesale, Opaque (i.e., those that do not reveal the hotel name and location until after booking, such as those available onPriceline.com and Hotwire.com), Discount, and Promotional rates are not eligible for the Program.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please let us know and we appreciate the opportunity to be of service.
Sincerely,

And I call it the easiest BRG ever. They accept almost every claim I submit if you play within their rules.

I submitted my first BRG. Almost all sites online (hotels.com, expedia, priceline) have Bestwestern Plus Oceanside for $94/night. Bw has it for $130. Thanks for the heads up. I hope this works!

T&C say "only one (1) Travel Card per household during any thirty (30)
day period (lower rate will be honored regardless of eligibility of Travel Card due to
limitations)"

Does this mean that the claims need to be 30 days apart? Or BRG stays need to be 30 days apart?

As quick as I turned it in, it was turned down. Apparently the cheapest room on BW was a "pool view". I missed those important words. The room I have booked for $94 through Hotels.com must face a garbage bin, or some closet.
Oh, well, better luck next time.

You mentioned many OTAs have this price. Find an OTA that has "pool view" in the room description and re-submit.

There must be 30 days between the stays. Doesn't matter when you submit the claims.

8 different sites offering the room cheaper on momondo.com, BW can't find the cheaper rate... great, I guess I have to find a different chain.

haha they told me different Story about booking.com. I am sure those BRG staff are bunch of high school drop out crack heads. If you cannot use booking.com, what is the point... I did not even look other OTAs... let's give money to other chains or independent B&B then. I totally wasted my time to match their useless diamond status.

I would reply to the email and politely point out that rates on Booking.com are transparent and publicly viewable. See what they reply back. I have found that BW has been the easiest BRG program for me. I have received a BRG'd room every 30 days for the past 2.5 years. And since most rooms I book are less than $100, I have about $600 in BW gift card value built up.

Do they still send you $100 travel card in US dollars? Can these travel cards in US dollars be used in BW hotels outside the US?
