750 Bonus Aeroplan miles per stay - Summer 2011

Earn 750 Bonus Aeroplan miles on each stay between June 19 and August 14, 2011.

https://goldcrownclub.bestwestern.co...ptype=aeroplan

With the Gift Card promotion AP collectors will be able to earn lots of points staying at Best Western properties this summer.

Note: While attempting to register for this offer I discovered that you can't claim both the bonus Aeroplan miles and the free night voucher.

Q. The other offer during the summer promotion available for Best Western Rewards members who are not part of
the airline, miles earning programs, can earn a free night voucher after staying 3 separate qualified times. Can a
Best Western Rewards member earn a free night voucher and bonus miles?
A. No. A Best Western Rewards member can only earn one or the other. They cannot earn a free night
voucher and bonus miles.

So decide which offer gives you the most benefit before registering.

Can you recommend a way to max this promo?

Can anyone recommend the best way to maximize this promo? I have a four-night stay with the family in Anaheim next month. I'm Platinum, but
Mr. love2ft doesn't have status with BW. We're tempted to split the stay with a Hilton property to help me get/keep Gold status through 2013. I also am Platinum PC.

Any suggestions on what is a good way to max current promos but also which chain is best for Disneyland? I normally stay at the Disney properties so not too sure, but I'll check out the related travel forums after this. TIA

Simple (well, at least it would simple wihout a family tagging along!). The maximum value in the promos is achieved by doing only 1-night stays. Ie, by changing the hotel every night. That's because you get the miles on a per-stay basis, not on a per-night basis. And a stay is any number of consecutive nights at the same hotel, no matter how many times you check in or check out.

In Anaheim, it's not hard to find multiple BWs within a short drive of each other. You might even be able to find a couple BWs within walking distance of each other, I'm not sure.

Are you driving to the hotel(s)? Be aware that all the HIlton properites in the area tack on parking charges (even with unsecured lots at the Garden Grove Hampton/HGI/Embassy trio), which is likely to make them much more expensive than many of the BWs. Because of the parking charges, this is not an area I choose to do any stays on my own dime to help me maintain my HH status.

Consider that there are lots of shuttles for taking people to Disneyland. Disneyland is huge, and its parking lots are huge, so beware of some hotel claiming it's "one block" from Disneyland; it may simply be "one block" from a Disneyland fence or wall! The only way you can walk into Disneyland is if you are in a hotel reasonably near the entrance.

You mention PC Plat. As a PC Plat, you'll get a free (combo hot/cold) breakfast buffet (including coffee but not juice) at the Holiday Inn on Manchester. It uses a shuttle service for Disneyland. I often get it on $70ish (AAA rate), which is many $$ less than I can ever get the Hampton or HGI. The breakfast buffet is not as extensive as HGI or even Hampton, but it's "good enough" for me at those $$ savings. And the Holiday Inn (as well as the Staybridge next door) has free parking.

If you are going the BW route and want to earn Aeroplan miles not only can you get the 750 bonus miles per stays but if you buy BW Travel cards to pay for your stay you can earn 1,500 Aeroplan miles for every $100 purchased:

Thanks OP for posting this.

And thanks superdawg, I went with AA so I will receive 5000 miles for a $500 GC. I paid with my new Chase BA card so that'll net me 50K miles and I'm making progress towards that spend requirement. Gotta love that double-dipping, actually does this count as triple-dipping since I'm going to earn miles for my stays paid with these GC? I've never triple-dipped before! Pardon my enthusiasm, but I love this site...would've never thought I can accumulate miles so easily!

And thank you very much sdsearch for your post. I've checked out the Manchester location online and it just might work, I'll split my stay between there and a BW to get the promos - now if I can only convince the family to switch off between hotels...
