OMA hasn't been great for upgrades recently, but seem to be making an effort now.
Last time I was in OMA, they gave me a camero ss. Maybe not the best winter car but it was summer.

Last few:

Location: RC5 - Local around Richmond VA
Reserved: Luxury
Received: Caddy XTS AWD
Notes: Nice ride, but I miss the DTS...

Location: MCO
Reserved: Full
Offered: VW Passat
Received: Chevy Suburban LTZ
Notes: Every single option they have (4WD, Factory NAV, Two TV Screens, etc) and it was on the Select N Go aisle.

Location: LB3 - Hilton Walt Disney
Reserved: Luxury
Received: Infiniti G37x
Notes: Probably my least favorite luxury car of the bunch at Avis. Nice Power and all but to small and not very comfortable.

Location: DCA
Reserved: Full
Offered: Nissan Altima (Base, Base model)
Received: Chevy Captiva LT
Notes: Hate getting the base of base model. Was able take the baby SUV from the Select N Go aisle. They only had one car in that aisle and one base mustang in the upgrade select n go.

Couldn't agree more about missing the DTS. However, the XTS is quite nice. Not as big, but a great car overall.

Very surprising at MCO! I'd expect they try to get every $ possible out of big cars there since they know everyone is bringing the whole family with tons tof stuff to go to Disney.

Again, agree 100%. It's a fun little car, but far from "luxury". It feels very dated inside and nothing near the M or other Lux cars.

I was shocked as well at what they had when we showed up. The had loaded Wranglers, a Genesis, and several Suburbans and Yukons in the Select N Go...

The Upgrade N Go or whatever had 5.0 Mustangs, SS Camaros, and plenty of BMW's

I was just driving from the airport to the Disney Hilton in it, with a stop at the grocery store. So gas was only a couple of bucks! The rate was cheaper than a cab or shuttle and way faster than the buses and shuttles.

Question. If I were to book a luxury car and since I have Avis First, what car group would I be upgraded to? (Assuming upgrade is available)

Officially nothing. There are no car groups "above" luxury that you're eligible for.

In practice, you might get a Cool Car, or an SUV.

YMMV.

Requested: Audi/Merc/BMW
Received: Merc B180 Auto

I had to wait ~20 mins for this B class to be prepped. Oddly, it was a UK car with UK plates. While the Qashqai would have been ok, it is a little bigger for the tiny parking spaces in one of the garages I was going to be leaving it in. The B Class, while not what I would consider a traditional Merc, was fit for purpose - efficient, spacious and comfortable.

So a one car upgrade but not the end of the world. First ever manual transmission rental though. Needless to say, I took this as an opportunity to teach my girlfriend how to drive stick.

Lot was pretty much empty Sunday morning. There was only two Mustangs and one Dodge Ram in Terminal A on the entire lot. I was too tired to check Terminal B so stuck with the 300.

Hopefully it was a C or fully loaded. Otherwise, I wouldn't call it much of an upgrade

I was using free day certificates so I guess I could tell myself I booked a C and got an upgrade. It is just a regular 300 although it says 300M on the contract.
