Two reservations for one rental?
Sorry, but I couldn't figure out a better title...
I'm currently renting a car on corporate contract, but want to personally use it for an extended weekend. For this I made a separate reservation: Res# 1234 Monday-Thursday (company pays, higher week rate) Res# 4321 Thursday-Monday (me pays, lower weekend rate) Do I need to return the car on Thursday, or is it possible to check in/out the car on Thursday over phone or email? Have anyone any experience with this? |
Anyone?
I asked when I checked out the car, but they didn't know. I've sent the manager an email, but no replies yet... |
typically, the location will let you keep the same car. you cannot check it out over the phone or email, they need your signature on the contract.
Some managers with a wizard number have checked in cars and checked them out remotely, but this is the exception, not the rule. The rental agent can, with some knowhow, allow you to sign two contracts at pickup, "partial" the contract in the system, and backfill it to a specific date, but as I said before, you need a really good agent who knows how to do do this. |

Very shortly after my last post, I got a reply from the District Manager. My first email was sent to the Airport Manager, but after four days without any reply, I sent a copy to the District Manager. His reply was "No Problems". :)
