Is the iTunes promotion still going on or did it expire on Sept 30?

Open to US residents only on valid rentals through 9/30/2007

I loved this promo. I hope they bring it back soon.

Do they go by pickup date or return date? I picked up an 8 day rental on 9/28 and returned it on 10/5.

I dunno. I live in Toronto and got my i-tunes.

I picked up my rental 10/01 and turned it in on 10/6 and i just got my itunes.

I thought it ended as well.

I cant complain I earned 300 songs from itunes my kids loved it

I didn't get that many, but my 20 year old got the equivalent of 10 free albums and was very happy.

I picked up on 9/30 and returned on 10/5 and I have not received iTunes for that rental.

I still haven't either, 9/28 to 10/5.

BRING IT BACK!!! (please!)

I sent them an e-mail, here is the response:

Thank you for contacting us through the Avis Website. We apologize for
the delay in responding to your e-mail inquiry.

Our most recent Avis iTunes promotion was for completing a paid rental
of one (1) or more days at a participating Avis location in the U.S. or
Canada between October 23, 2006 and September 30, 2007.

Qualifying rentals must have been rented and also returned by September
30, 2007.

Rentals picked up prior to September 30, 2007 and not returned until
after September 30, 2007 will not qualify to receive codes.

They still have the I-Tunes sign up at the Cincinnati Airport lot (as of Monday).

How did you register for this? I've rented during those windows and didn't get any iTunes

I can't remember if there was a registration but it only applied to rentals through the Avis website. Rentals through other travel sites did not earn I-Tunes (for example, American Express Travel).

There was a registration e-mail sent out that you had to register for. You did not have to book through the Avis site. For work I have to use my work TA and was able to have about 6 rentals count for the songs.

Not true. You had to register but the rental had to be made through the avis.com website. Rentals made through my company's TA did not earn me iTunes. Even setting up a rental via their 800 number would not do it.

Obviously it must depend on the booking engine our travel agents booked through since I did get my I-tunes for each of my TA booked reservations.

I did not earn I-tunes for my reservations through corporate travel (American Express Travel). I questioned it and they said not eligible. I did book some of my corporate travel through the avis website and used the company contract code, it was the same rate and I did get I-Tunes.

I'm ticked about this promotion. I amassed about 25 free downloads and had 18 left. Logged on the beginning of October to download some songs and all the free ones from Avis were gone. Sent a note to ITunes and they said the promotion was over and so were the free downloades. I got 6 free songs out of them, but I'll download the minute I receive them next time.

I used this promotion a bunch over the past year. I seem to remember that the iTunes had an expiration date also. You had to use them or lose them.

Think this promo is dead, I rented from Avis a couple of times in October and did not receive any free iTunes download certificates.

Yes, if you look further up in the thread you'll see it died September 30.

I really liked this promotion and it definitely brought Avis some extra business from me... they should reinstate it.
