Code to beat D752500

Let me know what you folks think..... Unbeatable!!!!

mommaroo Oct 4, 2005 10:44 pm

I think it all depends on WHERE---that code doesn't give me the best rates for JAX or CHS. A074800 works better.

really it is not that good. ive got fixed rate codes that beat it on the national level. some locations discount is greater than others, but no matter where the price is fixed at 30 a day, for example.

MileageAddict Oct 11, 2005 8:37 am

A074800 rocks for rentals at CLT! My full sized car went from $270 to $141. WOW!

lavedder Oct 11, 2005 2:36 pm

When I tried to use A074800, the rate is terrific, however each mile is at 31 cents.

What location? For CLT and MCO, it worked perfectly for me and my quote clearly states unlimited miles.

ezmonee Oct 12, 2005 6:55 am

depending on location, there is good and bad discounts. however any one way travel on the a074800 usually amounts to the .31 per mile past the 100 free per day.

ezmonee Oct 12, 2005 6:57 am

for the most part, a074800 works as a "guaranteed" rate structure. Which means in that particular airport/location, year round the rate will be the same. So during peak times, a074800 kick arse. during slow periods, it sucks.

on mileage, one way Between certain cities, one way travel is unlimited miles. Other cities it begets .31 per mile past the 100. And cities that are not part of the AWD agreement at all are .31 per mile flat rate.

Which codes do you suggest I try to rent a car OW 1 day or two from Pittsburgh to DC? It's about 275 miles.

first of all, try calling Avis and ask if they have any one way specials from pittsburg to DC. On occasion they do. Most recently they were advertising from AZ to California or from LAS to California or PHX. they were waving drop fee and issuing unl miles at one point. Never hurts to ask.

Heres a current deal for manhattan to Newark, NJ.

second, Consider taking the unlimited mileage (crappy rate) one way and pick up and drop off that car on the same day. Then pick up a booked rate at killer prices for the remainder of your trip/vacation/whatever.

Thank you so very much, Ezmonee, your L282800 took $16 off my one day rental from Pittsburgh to DC. WOW !!

I am doing as you suggested, returning the car when I get to DC and do another rental later on in the week.

Thanks again. :)

I just found out this site from another forum yesterday...lots of great info!!

I've been trying quite a few codes listed and seems to me L282800 work the best for me to rent a mimivan in Orlando for about 6 days...what code is it? is ID needed??

gerrit Oct 13, 2005 6:49 pm

My experience is that the ASAP code D005297 gives consistently low rates, and only very occasionally do I find a case where one of the other rate codes I commonly try is better. For my rental next week at BWI, D005297 is about 10% less than D752500.

How about P4000000 (6 zero's)

Depends on what and where it gives a pretty good price.

It's for a company that I'm associated with and as per their e-mails I'm allowed to share it with colleagues and friends to use it on corporate and leisure rentals..

AWD's are Letter plus six digits. you gave seven. However with one less zero, it gives absolutely no discount in the three markets I tested it with.

sAAul Oct 16, 2005 10:13 pm

Does anyone have any code that works in JNB? All of the above codes make no difference to the rate. Thanks!

mikew44 Oct 16, 2005 11:39 pm

P400000 and L282800 give me some good rates, $48 for 3 days in YUL unltd kms...... where are these codes from? They give even better rates then the Avis employee A153700

ooppssss.. sorry.. Let me check my pass when I'm back at the office. I may have mistakened it.

just checked previous mails and noticed the number refered to something else. The number I have is C025558. It's pretty good, from my experience

Toss a "3rd weekend day free" in on the P400000 Intermediate rate, makes the total $49 after taxes&fees for 3 days rental w/ unlimited mileage. Pretty unbeatable....

i think i will.

i think i will check it out. and thats why you should always say where and when instead of just saying "it gives me better than xxxxxxxxxxx." makes it easier to compare.

20-23 9am-9am YUL Intermediate class (dollars in CAD) pre tax
No AWD.......................179.97
L282800.......................125.98
p400000.......................125.98
a153700.......................83.97

but I cannot reproduce your results. A153700 gives a greater than 50% discount while the other two give roughly 30% in the same airport you cited.

Pickup Location: YUL -
Pierre Elliot Trudeau Intl Airport

I am planning to rent a minivan in Orlando (off airport) from Nov 3 to 9. If you are interested here is the results:

No code: $288.99
D752500: $260.09
A074800(Citigroup travel services): $265.00
L282800 $ 202.29
D005297 (ASAP): $244.99
A153700 (Avis employee): $170.00 (ID required) :(

So L282800 give me the best deal. But wondering which organizations/companies are some of the codes from? I guess it's better at least we know where they are from even though ID are not required in most cases.

Also, can Canada residents use these code without problems? seems they are provided by US groups.

ezmonee Oct 18, 2005 12:11 am

there are three codes that I have always checked ID for 100% of the time. 1> A153700. 2> Military codes 3> USAA Codes

Other than those, I rarely check IDS.

exmonee I agree with you. I will follow this procedure for my next "code drop" giving us all less hassles of searching. Thanks for your help in doing searches and posting!! GREAT JOB!!

ezmonee Oct 19, 2005 4:05 pm

I found L282800 code to be the lowest for a weekend rental in IAD. Has anyone been asked to show id when using this? TIA.
