Renting with a temporary license?
I have one of those paper licenses and a valid ID (passport).
How can I rent an Avis car? I know their website says this should work, but it doesn't. Apparently the policy changed 2 years ago and they never updated it. |

Which rental location? It's possible that policies vary from country to country.
In fact they confiscated my car. I went in to renew the contract and they wouldn't take it. I used self-checkout at the airport (but I do have a valid printed temporary license + passport). |

From "Who May Drive the Vehicle" under the Avis Terms and Conditions:
"Digital and temporary licenses are not acceptable for purposes of the rental." "A temporary driver's license is acceptable only if it has no restrictions and is valid for the entire period of the rental." Shrug. More conflicting advice. |
