LGA Avis Rental Return
Hi,
I am picking up a car at JFK but returning at LGA from AVIS. For the return, I am hearing that you have to take two shuttles to get back to terminal C (Delta) Is this true? I saw some suggestions on reddit about taking Uber from the rental to the terminal. Not sure how Uber drivers would feel about an interairport ride. Not sure how much has changed since I know that is an old post and there has been a lot of constuction. Anyone with recent experience returning a car at Laguardia that can share their experience? |

There is still some construction near C but its not as bad as it used to be. The Port Authority still doesn't want the rental shuttles clogging up the B&C roadways I guess, there is no timeframe as to when rental car shuttles will return there. If you have enough time I wouldn't bother with the expense of an Uber. |
Hmm, I took American into LGA twice earlier this year (once ~April and once ~June) and both times the Avis shuttle came to the terminal to pick-up, eliminating that crappy 2-shuttle situation. Both the LGA signage and Avis website said that you needed to take the shared shuttle to the marine terminal, then the Avis shuttle. But an airport employee told me otherwise the first time. I don't recall the pickup location, but it wasn't where the shared shuttle picked up.

Anyway, so I will just do the return at LGA . I guess I will get on the shuttle and ask the driver he will take me to term C. |
restrictonthehanger - you can get dropped off directly at the Avis lot at LGA to pick up a car as a local renter?

No 2 shuttles req'd However, it appears that Avis does not operate many shuttles, so it allow extra time for the trip. It took 20 minutes for the shuttle to arrive at the Avis lot for pickup. |

Just returned a car to Avis at LGA. Boarded the shuttle at the Avis lot and it went to Term A first and then Term C.
