Personal Travel Using Corporate AWD Code?

Hi All,

My company allows personal travel using company AWD code. However, I could have sworn in the past, there was an option when booking to choose whether this reservation was for personal or business use? I don't see that option anymore? Any idea why?

Is it possible that your company now has two AWDs, one for business, and a different one for personal?

Thank you! Does this mean I'll have to tell counter when picking up car that it's personal, or does it not really matter? I also checked and it included LDW so not sure if it'll cause a problem if it's a personal rental.

Company did say the code is good for both personal and business purposes though.

Avis doesn't care whether your rental is for business or personal. If you are authorized by your company to use the code, then you're good-to-go from Avis' perspective.

The one area where it could get a bit awkward if you have an accident in the rental. You'd definitely be covered regardless from Avis' perspective, so you would not have any out-of-pocket, but it might be interesting to see if how your company handles that scenario--or maybe they don't care.

In any case, as long as you have something in writing from your company that says the AWD is good for both personal and business, you should have nothing to worry about.

Safe travels!

Note - first time renting under corporate code for Avis. This time I was on a business trip and they wanted to see ID proof. My company access badge is generic and does not have any logos on it. Luckily I had my health insurance card with the company logo which they accepted.
