No excess information on budget?
Hi,
I was looking to book a car with Budget in Texas for next year. The budget site doesn't mention anything about excess or offer any other insurance options. Does this mean the car is fully covered for any eventualities in the price of the car? Also does anyone know any other avenues for booking a car with Budget cheaper (good third party sites, etc)? |
If you are booking via the Budget.com US site, then no insurance would be included by default other than the minimum required by law. You'd have to purchase insurance at the counter separately if needed. Most customers in the US have rental coverage through their personal auto insurance policy and/or their credit cards. If you live outside the US, then it's probably different for you.
Feel free to request a quote via AutoSlash and then PM us with your inquiry id (the number at the bottom of the email you receive) if you'd like us to check for insurance-inclusive rates. You could also check out a site like RentalCover.com for 3rd party coverage. |
thanks, i'm booking from the UK.
It seems to just list collision damage waiver, but I called Budget and they seemed to think that would cover everything and there was no excess. Fingers crossed that's correct! |
I've never used Budget, but booking through Avis UK as a UK resident I always get CDW & ALI with zero excess included in the rental price, so it's reasonable to assume that Budget will do the same - as indeed have Hertz, Alamo & Dollar. I have, on one occasion, booked through the Avis.com (i.e. US) website - entering my residence as UK applied the same insurances.
