Status Match?
 
Anyone have any recent experiences with status matching to Avis? I am President's Circle at Hertz and want to match over to Avis, since Hertz has really gone down hill with both car selection, service, and insane pricing lately.

How long does it take after emailing your match info in? Is the match good for a certain length of time or can it be renewed?

Don't know about US, but EU->Status match by mail, got approved a few days later, valid for the rest of the membership year

I status matched several years ago when my company at the time entered into a contract with Avis. My status match was very easy and quick since we had an account rep who handled everything. AFAIK I have lifetime Avis PC status now (I was Hertz PC).

When I matched to National a few years ago (without an account rep), it took a week or two IIRC. I would expect the same from Avis but of course YMMV.

Next day, even Saturday. But was bummed it was Preferred Plus. Why is PC impossible??

When I was matched, everything pointed towards me getting PP. I was very surprised to be given PC. I think I only got it because of my company's new relationship with Avis. My understanding is that PC and CC are invite-only levels.

I have PC through my former employer. Our company had an Avis rep who upgraded my account into PC. Invite only. Also think it is lifetime status.

My company has a contract with Avis so maybe I'll get higher than just PP... but would be nice to get some sort of acknowledgement at this point. Sent in another match email in case the first one got 'lost'.

If you have a contract then you should absolutely be emailing your account rep and let them handle it. Otherwise don't get your hopes up for anything beyond PP, as that is the level to which Hertz PC normally matches. If you don't know how to contact your account rep, ask your company's travel coordinator and they can help.

No luck with the profile update email referenced above. Got my company's Avis account rep contact and sent them a message this morning so will see what happens.

Well pretty sad... seems that Avis has customer service as bad as Hertz. Emailed in over 2 weeks ago and no response. Emailed account rep on Mon and not even an acknowledgement.

Received response today of upgrade to Preferred Plus. Given the acute shortage of cars in Alaska, hopefully this will help Avis keep the car we have booked.

I submitted a status match last week from National Executive Elite. I received an email today that matched me to Preferred Plus Premium. Is Premium the higher of the the two Preferred Plus earning tiers?

I've never actually rented from AVIS before so will have to give them a shot shortly.
