Avis extends status until 2021

This just in -

"Dear Duxfan -

On behalf of everyone here at Avis, we hope this message finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe. We appreciate your loyalty and want to let you know that we are extending your Preferred Plus status for another year through January 15, 2022, regardless of your 2020 rental activity."

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, I appreciate the extension. No word on 2020 activity being rolled over to 2021, like National has done.

I just got the same email, for President's Club status. I had forgotten about it to be perfectly honest. So this is a nice surprise.

My (UK based) Presidents Club dropped to Preferred Plus at the end of April. Rather disappointing

Sending a message to customer service in Germany was to no avail --> Preferred Plus now.

Don't forget it would be for the status you made last year. If you were scheduled to drop down a level, you still will.

Pleased to see I have now been bumped back to President’s Club for this year. No intervention on my part, but also no email from Avis which seems a missed marketing opportunity on their part.

Do you mean to say another year beyond the last bump so you have status in 2022? This thread is already somewhat dated. This would be a big deal if they are already extending for a second time.

I suspect people are not able to travel as much not only because of covid, but also because of the rental car shortage (sold out for long periods and/or unaffordable/not worthwhile rates). If Avis recognizes that, customers are lucky status is getting extended.
