Avis NZ - Full size elite
 

Have a 3 week rental coming up in NZ and am getting comparable quotes from Avis and Hertz for 'Full size elite' and a hybrid Camry respectively. Any pointers on which car am I likely to get in that category with Avis? It says Holden Commodore or similar and I have no idea if that is better than the Camry or if I am likely to get anything else.

I am a basic member with both the rental agencies.

The current Holden Commodore ZB is fully imported from Germany, and is a badge-engineered Opel Insignia. Will be 4 or 6 cylinder front wheel drive

Camry & Commodore about the same: depends on the detail trim & engine. [A non hybrid Camry would be my choice]

Note if you are going across Cook Strait (Wellington Picton) normal practise is that you drop the car off at the ferry terminal and collect another car on the other side

Thanks. Hopefully Avis will show on the app what they have assigned when I land and I can take a call based on that. Staying within a 30 mile radius of Auckland throughout so no ferries involved!
