Tonight’s upgrade:
PC
CLT (one way to RDU)
Booked: Full (corp rate)
Received: Dodge Durango
Switched to a Lincoln MKT AWD
Asked for another Volvo XC60 but they didn’t have any available.
Small rant but the Preferred desk member (seemed to be training) messed up my payment and had to re-do the reservation. No problem. The manager ended up taking over, but not once did they apologize nor thanked me for being a PC. Again not a big deal but I wished Avis had better customer service and perks for their elites! I’m always thanked for and treated well majority of the time as a Delta DM and Marriott Ambassador.
Wondering if I should status match to National or Enterprise....anyone had better experiences overall outside Avis?

Super happy about this one. It was the inscription trim with everything you could want.
Looking back, this was the only rental without status, and it was one of the best upgrades.. sigh

fingers crossed for tomorrow at PDX and back at YVR on 21st

Super happy with the upgrade, it's been a while since I got tangible uprades at this location on other companies, went back to Avis on this one and they got it right!

Received: 2019 Audi Q2 TDI 30 Autom. (also considered I group)
Decent enough car with GPS built-in, but SD card removed as per usual. Had booked a rate with 0€ deductible and declined all upsell, but still got stuck with some "optional requested" roadside assistance that apparently was added stealthily by the station. The "optional" is supposed to suggest it is to be chosen, the "requested" suggest you asked it to be added.
Anyways, it was 8am upon pick-up after 13hrs flight so they got me and managed to pull off this con for ~7€ a day. I had questioned it at the Preferred office in the car park, but silly me bought the "optional" story. Anyways, not worth arguing with Avis' terrible support about it. Italy, you gain some, you lose some

No complaints. This station had a lot of Skoda Superb / Wagon on the lot which can be good value if you need lots of space for less $ than an E-Class.

Assigned & Received: JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 4WD
This is the first time in years of having preferred that they actually gave me the car and parking space number in advanced. Every other time I always have to go to the preferred desk to get my car assigned. I always wondered how people get the assignment in advanced or their name on the board. I did nothing different this time.

Was little upset I didn't get a bigger size or an SUV for my family but then the price we got was very good and the pick up process with the app was so painless and zero wait. Not getting upgrade at airport location maybe common. The car was really nice. the music system, navigation, apple car play was all a very nice helpful feature.
I twice rented at San diego old town location. At both times we got SUV cos they are the only cars they had!
