decided to pick up a day earlier instead of Sunday since I'll still be charged a weeks rate. On the way, on the app, I was offered the Durango, Ford flex, dodge journey... Didn't like any of them. Got to the rental car facility and the app was only showing mini vans for exchanges. I went to preferred desk and asked for a nicer pickup or standard suv or higher. She wanted to charge me for a pick up upgrade even though I've gotten free upgrades and only suv "available" was a Nissan rogue. Was disappointed on the selection choices this Saturrday afternoon especially after walking through the Hertz lot and seeing how vast their selection was for the day.

Even though the Durango wasn't showing up anymore on my app, I remembered where the spot was and took it to the gate. Told agent I changed on my phone (lie) and they just swapped it out there. Durango was pretty new but still may just take a nicer suv next time and play dumb at the gate.

Booking an Intermediate and expecting an SUV as a lowly PP is way out of line with reality. Sure, it might happen once in a while, but the only upgrade listed on the terms is 1 class, when available. That's a standard; a far cry from an elite or full size SUV. If you want one of those, book and pay for it. Just because you got it in the past, it has no bearing on future rentals. If an airline gives you an upgrade once, do you complain when you don't get a seat up front every single time?

Avis and Hertz are very different companies; if you don't like what Avis has, feel free to book elsewhere.

I hope you have better morals in your family/job/life than how you deal with rental companies.​​​ I was at a large airport a few weeks ago and the person got to the gate with the wrong car. Since traffic was behind them, they couldn't back up. The agent refused to let them pull out of the lot with the wrong car, even to drive right back in, since they had no control of the vehicle. The agent made the customer schlep all of their belongings (in the rain) back to the desk to get the right car. Hopefully more agents are like this.

Brand new Toyota Highlander with only 20 miles on the meter. Pretty stiped down with no extra accessories but a new car and pretty big so overall nice.

Was hoping for a Wrangler, but the Outback was very comfortable drivng 5 hours to moab and back. Radar cruise came in handy. Had leather and sunroof. Switched in app, other options included AWD CX5 and various Kia SUVs

Recieved the car booked. Asked for a different brand before but was not honored, however this was easter Thursday so selection was limited. Very happy with the car and very convenient pickup at MCO (took more time to load the luggage than to pickup the keys).

A walk-in couple just before me took a Toyota Avensis SW, which would have likely been my assigned car - so they offered me this as an upgrade, and even apologized that they were giving me a gas guzzler. The car had the M Sport package with almost every option other than 20" wheels.
On return at OSL, there were multiple X5 eDrive hybrids lined up in stalls, so this model appears to be in abundance in Oslo.
