rate code

Don't know the details on this one or how it works but entering in a 76 rate code cut my 7 day, full size rate in HALF. no kidding. Anyone know these rate codes work?

Would have liked the savings, but I tried several combinations of days, lengths, locations and always got "Sorry, your rate does not apply"

I tried the code for a rental in MEM for a week and saved 70 bucks for June 30-Jul 5. THANKS http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Maybe you used a different AWD (avis worldwide discount). What did you use?

IM4Travel Jun 29, 2000 10:21 pm

I tried the code and it worked...it also seemed to change my AWD automaticaly to 888841...definitely cuts the rate down...hope preferred service still works..hate those lines.

Looks like it works in some locations for 5 day rentals of any class with a Saturday night stay.

I also got a 2- Day rental(Sat night stay) at EWR for $43/day....was able to get an SUV for that price!! WOW!!!!

I'm beginning to think it's me or my browser! Would you tell me the dates/times of the EWR rental and I'll try it? There must something I am doing wrong...this can't be as elusive and hit-or-miss as the star internet specials on the UA site!!

One time when I tried the code 76 ..it automatically assigned me to AWD# 888841...so I played with it a little by plugging in my pick-up and return dates..and the city....then inputting the rate code and the above AWD #...then playing a little with the car groups....some are available....some not....but it's a lot cheaper if you get one.

try K163205. I just booked a bunch of cars out of YYZ (Toronto) for $30 Canadian a day. Full Size is $34 CND.

Code was useless for Atlanta and Sydney, Australia so it is limited in geographic application.

What booking engine are you all using with these codes. Expedia doesn't have a space for codes. Easysabre does, but that doesn't work. Not sure what to use. Suggestions?

The AWD, if you can get the avis site to say it is valid, is K888841

Neither the different AWD's nor rate code work for my attempts at european rentals. Trying to rent a full size in BCN I came up with a higher rate than without any AWD code.
does anyone know the limitations?

IM4Travel Jul 24, 2000 4:22 pm

It's AWD # A888841
