Does Avis in CDG have Mercedes C class or is it "or similar"?

We will be into CDG Paris in May and will take transport to Paris for 2 nights then back to CDG to pick up an Avis Mercedes C class car for a trip to Normandy. I worry that, as usual, the rental add says "or similar"
Will I get a Mercedes or a junky alternative? Anybody with actual experience at Avis CDG having Mercedes? Thanks from this new poster!

What do you consider a "junky alternative"?
Mercedes C Class or Audi A4 or BMW 3 series

Beef, Chicken, Fish. I want what I ordered. Does anybody know if they have the Mercedes at that location? I once ordered a Dodge Charger in Vegas and got a Hyundai.

You are not ordering a Mercedes, you are ordering a class of car of which the Mercedes is an example of the type you can expect - ie, a small executive saloon.

That car class is always "or similar" - getting a C-class depends on your luck at the time. Chances are good at the major airport like CDG. Just don't settle for the CLA version
Be prepared for BMW 3-Series, or a free upgrade to something boring like Volvo V50 or V60

Did you order a Charger or a Full Size/Premium or similar vehicle, of which the Charger is just one example?

You are only guaranteed the exact model if it's a "select series" booking.
My experience of both Avis and Hertz across Europe is huge variety of models in the fleets, and I get the "example model" less than half of rentals.

Thanks for the info! I hope I get the car I want. I realize the reason they say or similar but I dont want to spend the best part of a month in something I dont really like.

They do have the C class at CDG, I'd say your chances are around 60-70%
Other cars are V60, 3-series less frequently

Thanks a lot for the answer. The V60 is a station wagon right? Does it have a partition so people cant look in the back and see all your luggage?

All cars usually have a luggage partition, haven't gotten the V60 yet so cannot comment on this one.

Just FYI, seems more common now in France that on some models the luggage partition is a retractable tarp instead of a plastic one
