Alert: You have to be logged in at avis.com to be able to specify an Frequent Traveler program. That field (which is now on the Rental Options page) disappears if you try to book without being logged in. Wow, the new 2,500/5,000 mile AA deal seems very lucrative. Are there any $$ off coupon codes for luxury/non-core class rental class vehicles?

And is the first time SPG points have been awarded for Avis rentals?

If I have to use their AWD code, I can't use it for business. Any other ways to make it work?

I don't know far back it goes, but the wiki shows one Starwood promo which was originally through the end of 2015 but got extended into this year, and another Starwood promo (greyed out) that died at the end of 2015.

So at least throughout much of 2015 there were Starwood promos.

I've never earned SPG points other than through stays or credit card, so I never paid attention to when they might have started partnering with Avis.

No. If your work requires use of a company AWD for company rentals, you cannot get bonus miles under this promotion. It is pretty obvious why they switched from a coupon code, but it is a unfortunate decision used to target leisure rentals and not corporate renters.

It is the most lucrative ABG promo in quite some time.

Almost as good as the 3k AA miles/rental day a few years ago! Even better that no coupon code is required, thereby allowing us to combine with other $$ off coupons.

Weird- tried to use it and all I got was "no results found. Change search criteria and try again." Tried several different dates and the airport I'm going to as well as my home, just to see what was going on. Can't just try infinite number of dates, Avis...this is for a trip after all...

Big airport, too, and with plenty of time - PHL, in mid-September.

Gave some love to Southwest. You should be able to book via the normal Avis/Budget sites.

I hope no one is offended that I am including all of the ABG offers (labeled as such). If you are chasing the miles (and not the Avis Points), might as well take the best price/offer when most places cross fleet (at least for Avis-Budget).

I've ran into a few airport franchise locations where you can't get miles, so I choose the other brand versions.

I recently completed a rental using the AWD K817112 for the American Airlines 2500 bonus miles deal. However, only the usual 750 (500+250) posted today into my AA account.

I am hoping that the extra 2,500 miles will post later, but has anyone's 2500/5000 bonus mileage posted concurrently with their standard earning amount?

Yikes. Open a support email ticket with Avis.

Just note that the 2500 bonus did not post, only the main 500. Avis doesn't control the status bonus you got as a side note.

Can anyone confirm they received the 2500 mile bonus using the AWD number listed in the wiki? Several of my reservations just have the normal miles earned estimate and I'm worried it isn't working after seeing iluvdoco's post. My first trip is coming up Monday so I'd like to know what to do to ensure it will post correctly.

Thanks!

I think we are resigned to the fact that they won't post properly in the short-term. I am somewhat confident the problem is because they chose to use an AWD/BCD instead of a coupon. There seems to be a need for a manual process to sweep these rate code reservation that paid for three days and submit the miles as a separate process. This might happen on a less frequent basis than the auto-posting.

I would just open a ticket and indicate that you are missing the 2500 bonus miles and only got the normal miles (when it happens). I am sure this is a common issue and they will need to submit a request for a manual posting.

As also indicated, the estimated miles won't include this bonus either (same issue). The estimate miles never included the AA status miles, but it did include the bonus when it was coupon triggered.

I emailed Avis. Their response was unhelpful. Told me to wait 30 days even though I submitted a request for manual posting. Unfortunately the promo will be over by then and I'm not sure I want to do another rental not knowing if the bonuses will post.

Guess I'm headed back to National.

Some wiki updates.

The AA 3+ day bonuses using a rate code not coupon have been extended to 10/31/2016. I did not track the previous 10/15/2016 expiration. Unfortunately, the rate with that code has been too high for me, so I have no experience receiving miles under the promo and do not know if renters complaining earlier up thread ended up receiving a sweep of bonus miles recently.

I missed it earlier, but the status-based AA base miles method which has been around for some time now currently shows an expiration of 12/31/2016. It did say 12/31/2015 earlier, but I think it is important to note that the program has to be renewed each year.

ABG did not renew its Southwest/Budget hidden offer.

On to the next season of bonus offers.

ABG decided to go back to a coupon code method versus an AWD (good news), but really cut down the miles offer (bad news).

However, when I see a long window offer, this means they will go back to offering multiple channels/varying offers which we had not seen in some time with AA (SWA had a few recently). This means, that you have to keep on the lookout for alternative options.

In light of all the AS action happening (DL changes/VX integration/changing award charts), I have updated all of the ABG AS offers with many going into 2017.
