LAX: SUV selection
I am planning to rent a car at LAX for two weeks and since it needs to fit a party of four and luggage, I was thinking of getting a SUV instead of a regular sedan. On the Avis website I can see three major kinds of SUV classes that are roughly the identical price: Standard SUV, Standard Elite SUV, and Intermediate SUV. The only class significantly more expansive is the Premium SUV.
Does anyone out here know which kind of SUVs they have at Avis LAX and which category I should book in order to get a nice ride? Or is there a regular sedan option with ample space in the trunk? I just had an M300 which is a nice car but due to the huge wheelhouses the usable trunk space feels smaller than in an old VW Golf...totally misengineered. Thanks! |
LAX is a big station that gets just about everything, eventually.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/avis/...ars-class.html Among American sedans, the Chevy Impala (full size) and Ford Tarus (premium) have notably large trucks. In general, Americans buy SUVs and crossovers, not wagons. Hatchback cars are not popular above the compact class. Rental fleets generally reflect this. |
