Change name on a reservation?
 

I made a reservation through my company travel site (citing personal use) and got a great rate. Id like to change the renter to my father (same last name) so he can use the car. I will NOT be there for pickup.

I don't see anywhere on the site I can change the name / DL. Is this possible?

Just for future/archival reference purposes, it is not possible to change the name on a reservation. A call to a CSR may be fruitful, but generally, you'll need to cancel the old reservation and rebook a new one under the new name.

The alternative is to be present at the time of pickup and ask the CSR to rent to another person in the party, which is generally permissible.

Yes, it's kind of a silly policy ("the car is going to be used the same no matter who rents it!") but so are the airlines' similar policies about charging a fee for name changes.

One of the reasons you got the 'great rate' is that the rate is tied to your corporate account and they extend that rate to their employees for personal use. I am sure the extension of the rate is for employees and not 'friends & family.' Thus no name change allowed.
