Taca FFP and questions
 

I have miles in Taca and am not entirely sure how they are good for. I last flew on them 2/03. Sometimes I would see something indicating they expire 12/04.

I also wondered if anyone had any ideas on how to add some miles. All the hotels they are connected with are in Mexico, can't find a shopping portal, I don't rent cars but that didn't look great either.

You can combine miles from up to 3 accounts for a single ticket.... so 12,000 from each of 3 accounts can be used for a single 35,000 ticket.

You can earn TA miles from flights on AA... just give your TA number.

I think miles are good for 3 years- but you can verify the expiration date on the taca website if you log into your account. The expiration date is a drop-dead date: unlike other programs where you just need to have some kind of activity every 3 years, the TACA miles truly disappear after 3 years if they're not used.

I normally check TACA.com daily, their specials can change, and sometimes only last a day or so, sometimes weeks.

They hardly ever have specials out of Houston, but the cities vary, and you may be able to find a flight where you want to go for not too much money.

They also had a promo a month or so ago where they added 2,000 miles if you updated your info (it had to be different from your current info).

And they give you 2,000 miles online booking bonus, which yielded more miles than what I got for my IAH-SPS flight. They forgot to credit it, so I had to email for it. Looks like I'll have to do the same on my MIA-SJO ..... :rolleyes:
