AV @ BOG - check bag to final dest. on separate tickets?
Any experience with AV at BOG on checking bags to final destination when on separate Y tickets? Contemplating to purchase a AV ticket BOG - LHR and a separate BA ticket from LHR to my final destination in Denmark (BA ticket to include 1 checked bag).
Any first hand experience?

If you are travelling with a connection, remember that your baggage will be checked until your final destination only if all your flights are part of the same contract of carriage. That is, if all your flights are registered on the same ticket. Otherwise, you must pick up your baggage and re-check it for the next flight when connecting. Please check our baggage policy with partner airlines to learn about the regulations that apply for each country.

I'm aware of the official policy of AV but my experience with other airlines is that the official policy is not always adhered to; hence my Q about first hand experience.

Hello.
As part of a RTW ticket, my wife and I will be flying into Bogota on Avianca from Madrid arriving 04:50am. I plan to purchase a separate Bogota to Rio de Janeiro ticket departing 07:20am. This makes for a 2:20 international-international connection.
I would like to ask if Avianca agents in Madrid will check our bags through to Rio de Janiero even though they are separate tickets, since both will be Avianca operated flights.
Should they check the bags though, we should not need to pass through immigration in Bogota since we are not entering Colombia, right?
Any real world experience would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
