LifeMiles Expiration

LifeMiles expire a year from when there was last activity. But what constitutes when a transaction occurs so that they get another year started? I know redemption does not count as account activity. Does transferring in miles from a credit card company (such as Citi thank you points) count as activity? Does using your Banco Popular branded Avianca credit card, and getting miles posted to your LM account count as activity?

Its a shame LifeMiles has this strict cancellation of miles policy. Especially when they run the 145% promo. Otherwise I’d buy a lot more miles, but their rules scare me to iln

my account says that my miles expire Feb 2019, does that mean Feb 1st or do I have until the end of Feb?

Is there anywhere to find, on the new site, when miles expire?

The reply from Lifemiles... there is no functionality at the moment to state the date of miles expiry. But they are working on it.

In the meantime if you want the expiry date of miles you need to send your name, account number and copy of yuor passport ID page so they can tell you the date.

Awardwallet shows my miles as expiring March 1.

I bought 1,000 miles on Feb 15, awardwallet's expiration date didn't change.

According to the linked blog article above, buying miles should count to expire.

Anyone have ideas about whether Award Wallet is still accurate since the new web site went online?

I'm concerned that if I wait until I hear back from LifeMiles on an email request, it will take me beyond March 1.

Any suggestions?

Does buying Lifemiles extend expiration? I bought some last week, & Awardwallet is still showing miles as set to expire in a month.

I still can't see this information on the Lifemiles website. However, it's available on the Android app though, if this helps.

Here’s a link to OMAAT’s website about LifeMiles expiring:
https://onemileatatime.com/lifemiles-expiration-policy/

It does not make it clear in the article if mileage “activity” is actual flying or if buying miles counts. If it still shows a March expiration date, I would guess “activity” qualifies as flying and buying won’t prolong expiration.

Can one apply for the credit card and accumulate miles that way to not get them to expire? It’s annoying that LM gives you such a short span for expiration.

Buying miles extends the validity, as does points+pay (which actually credits your account with the miles you wish to top up). I can’t recall ever having credited miles to LM earned through flying and yet my expiry date keeps getting extended.
