If you have a card that offers a "virtual account" then I would use that to purchase anything from Avianca. I never get declined when I use that feature on my Citi card. The one time I tried to use my Chase card (trying to meet a minimum spend) it was declined. Same with my Amex. And the strangest part is that, as br2k pointed out, Lifemiles transactions are (now) charged in the US so I wonder what's causing cards to still be declined.

I went one step further and cancelled all my Chase cards to get new numbers. Will see if that will have any impact. Because I noticed a friend's Chase card had no issue when transacting on LM.

is it worth buying LM miles for an economy flight? at 1.34 US cents it makes sense for Biz or F seat but is it worth for economy seats?

Need to ask yourself what is cheaper: buying the miles or buying a cash ticket. For flights I need in economy, it does make sense to buy LM miles because the cash price is a lot more.

Good luck with your search.

Can anyone tell me what the max bonus can be for someone with a Avianca credit card. Can it be more than 140%?

Edit: I read somewhere the Credit Card bonus only works with Multiply Your Miles, so never mind,
