United has a flash sale on miles. If you buy at least 20,000 UA Miles, the cost is 1.75 cents per mile. For me that is a better deal than what LifeMiles.com is currently offering.

I’ve seen more 2 for 1 plus bonus offers from LM since September than ever since I started w LM. Another one showed up today. Valid up to Dec 25. I’m still reluctant to shell out any dollars given how abysmally difficult redemption has become. I wonder whafs behind this seeming ... desperation?

Decided to roll the dice and try buying some lifemiles with the 140% bonus. For some reason after keying in the credit card info, transaction did not go through, anyone having this problem as well?
Edit: Saw others having issues as well from the earlier posts, right now on hold trying to reach their call center
Edit2: Gave up calling the call center after 15 mins (i guess dont call on a Sunday). Realized that I received fraud alert notifications from the cards i tried using to buy, verified with my bank and after re-attempting again was able to purchase.
