Effectively, what they have sussed out is that they were "selling" miles at even lower than 1.5 cents per miles (which was the best cash rate they offered with the 100% bonus) when we chose the "more money/less miles option" when booking the ticket, and have now decided that the best rate we will get to purchase miles will be 1.5 cents per mile, period.
The only benefit of choosing "more money/less miles" now is the fact that this way you can overcome the 150,000 miles cap on buying miles during the 1.5 cent per mile promotions

Also, people are using their facebook page to comment on these changes. Maybe they will realize how unpopular their enhancements are.

I would encourage FT members to leave comments on their FB page to let them know how displeased we are with the way they have treated LM members so unprofessionally with their three stealthy devaluations within such a short period.

A Freddie and that that! Either one of the big airlines is pushing them to increase the price of the miles to protect their F inventory from getting booked with cheap miles - prominent example is LH again - or they lately lost a lot of money by some major bugs and have to collect some money now to pay their "debts" to partner airlines

Just to recoup what they did in a very short period of time since joining A*:
1. Introduced $25 online booking fee
2. A 250 miles e-store fiasco
3. Devaluation by increasing many J redemptions by 5,000
4. Fixed most of the tricked routes (can't blame them)
5. Another devaluation, this time significant
6. Increased the cash portion price per mile
All of that unannounced.
Here's my guess what will happen sooner rather than later:
7. Increase of purchase price of miles to $35 per 1,000
8. Fix the remaining few tricked routes
9. Block LH F and some other premium cabins
10. Add fuel surcharges
All of that will, of course, also come unannounced.

They are performing hara-kiri in front of the world on Facebook.
Let's see how this ends...
LifeMiles has not made any recent changes in its program nor has devalued its currency. We’ve sent you a private message so you can tell us what happened in detail, please check your inbox or your other folders

Sorry but lots of posts exposed all of these tricks and Lifemiles is catching up. This is a new game for them and it is a business not a charity. I can bet you LH or SQ raised a red flag or chargebacks were mounting too.
And to be frank, they did not devalue the chart this time (two weeks ago they did for certain routes which do not affect me whatsoever). This time they changed the cash and miles feature which was a great way to buy miles at even lower prices. I cant blame them for doing this, we all knew it was not going to last. I just blame them for not giving us a grace period like Hilton ( and am still mad at Hilton regardless).
I guess the famous rule:" Earn and Burn" applies. And with new programs, it is essential to NOT collect miles unless one has a trip in mind.
Lesson learned.
