2X, 3X: in the context of this LifeMiles thread, 2X and 3X refer to any 2nd and 3rd legs of a one-way award ticket.

LifeMiles' Star Alliance Award Chart

Cash & Miles redemptions: buying the max (60%) isn't always the best deal (unless you're purchasing all miles right there). Check here for the best CPM.

Beware of Cabotage: LifeMiles has been known to issue tickets that constitute Cabotage, and at least one instance of denied boarding has been reported, stranding the passenger. An easily-seen example is travel on Copa from LAX to SJU (via PTY).

I know the question was not for me but I will answer anyway:
Both. Depends on your origination.

Done because you asked so nicely. But don't you think that the people who can figure that out figure that out anyway?

With all the tomfoolery that is allowed on LM, it makes me wonder how much of this is possible on other FFP's; hard to believe this pot of gold is only available on LM; I just don't have all day to try the nearly infinite possibilities; I'll have to hire some of my CS friends or recruit someone from Russia to get me some scripts to find out

this thread is amazingly consistent.

1. people discuss a few tricks. some have more details than others.

2. blogger posts something.

3. people here complain about bloggers. (there's another thread for this, might be better to discuss over there)

4. people here complain about other people here and the mods have to intervene.

4. new crop of posters start talking about 99% old stuff.

5. old people don't like the way the thread goes and leave but read it once in awhile.

6. wash, rinse and repeat.

I wish more threads were like this and Trick It. A hole (unrelated to AV in any way) on my favorite airline is almost openly exposed. Something that blatant would not happen here.

Nothing. Ticketing can take longer than 24 hours. Ticketing can take longer than 48 hours.

According to my past experience after 72-96 hours some segments will drop...

It's not uncommon for it to take over 48hrs to ticket. If the payment went through smoothly it will ticket sooner or later.

You dont make human contact with anyone regarding a tricked route.

The person should wait. Its not uncommon to take 2 to 3 days to get a booking ticketed with life miles

Maybe you just did not get email. chechmytrip.com is your friend. If tickets numbers are there and it's confirmed, it's just ok
