It took 1-2 days for my friend to get his 1000 purchased miles posted. Fortunately still on time for the 1000 2000 4000 8000 etc. miles transfers.

Cancellation - redeposit of miles.

Cancelled award before ticket issued - so no penalty incurred but how long will it take until miles are redeposited. Should I call and have manual redeposit after 2 days ?

Mine came through I think about 4 days later, but it may have included a w/end. So yes, give them a call after 2-3 biz days.

If you cancel a Cash + Miles award do you get the cash back or do you get miles for the cash portion? Basically is it Priority Club or DC?

Not sure, as mine was a full miles purchase. Perhaps others can help.

Normally it's very fast, but... there have been reports of systems issues in the last few days, apparently slowing things down considerably.
It might take 12-24 hours, even more.

Understand, but I don't believe there is anything you can do to speed the process. If you call, they will just tell you it is in the queue.
Not to be a downer, but a friend was in your position on Monday and had to cancel a trip because they couldn't ticket in time.

Really, so apart from the cancellation fee - that could be seen as a way to buy extra miles for cheaper than the normal rate...?
