Agent found no availability even though EF says available

I have been calling the Asiana hotline a number of times this past week as I'd like to book an award flight between KUL and TPE. The flight I'm interested in is BR228 on Nov 14 in Business class. Even though ExpertFlyer, aircanada.com, and flyasiana.com all say there's availability, the agents insisted that they did not see any...

This is not making any sense. What should I do now?

I don't get it...

If you can see award availability on the Asiana website as you say, why don't you just book it from there? Why call in?

It seems that you're aware of the changing-regions trick for the OZ website to show and book *A awards, so why not go through with the booking online?!

It is because I'm actually making a change to an existing award ticket booked on the phone. My existing ticket is from CGK-TPE-YVR and I'd like to change my departure point to KUL.

Did you search for KUL - TPE - YVR as one award ticket and that showed availability? Could it be married segments causing KUL - TPE being unavailable?

Thanks, but no. I was searching for KUL-TPE and that is still available.

LOL

You didn't think this would be necessary information to your query??? Better late than never, I guess...

The point THD is making is that if your original booking was CGK-TPE-YVR as a married segment, it is completely irrelevant even if there is availability for KUL-TPE. You can only make a change if there is availability for KUL-TPE-YVR

How does this "changing-regions trick" on the OZ website work? I could only manage to find flights to or from ICN, and all my search results show that I have to call to book a *A flight.

Change the region to "Korea". Language can be either Korean or English, depending on works for you.
Then go to Asiana Club -> Use Mileage -> Star Alliance/Partner Airlines
There's a red button near the top left of the page with "Star Allience [sic] Award Ticket Reservation". Click that and search for your flights

Thank you, this helped me a lot. My main problem was that I used a tablet, and the website looks quite different there. Now I found it .
