Question Question about BoA 10k anniversary miles credit

Looking at the fine print on the BoA application page, it looks like the 10k annual miles come with two very big caveats:

- they are not deposited into your account but are rather issued as a certificate that has to be used in one go (but can be combined with the mileage balance in your account)
- they can only be used for OZ redemptions, not *A ones

Am I reading this correctly? It also looks like the cert can only be used in person or over the phone with an agent, not online, but that’s secondary to the two points above.

Yes, you are right about it. And yes, you need to call to use it.

Yeah it's one year, so every year, you have those 10K but you cannot accumulate them, if that's the question.

There are other requirements. The reverse of the most recent coupon we have, used just a couple of weeks ago, says:
  • Name on certificate must match the name on the Asiana Visa and the pax name on the Asiana ticket;
  • You can redeem for excess baggage at check-in but must present the certificate and Visa card;
  • Certificate is only redeemable in the USA, subject to blackout dates, seat availability.
Basically, what we do when we use the certificates is verify seat availability, then call them.
