Based in BNE. Brisbane, Australia. I will probably head to SE Asia and maybe the Japan region in Jan 2018. I initially only joined Asiana for the easy *G. I tend to fly Oneworld more often.
I have family in Europe, that could probably make use of the miles otherwise...

https://flyasiana.com/I/KR/EN/Redemp...Travel.do#none - It seems to now work on the Korean in English Language website.

I think they were planning to integrate a web-based redemption service for all *A members by the end of the year. I'm VERY glad that hasn't yet happened. It's terrible for those of us who know all the loopholes. Now, any kettle with a credit card sign up who doesn't know all the details will just be able to book space.

can you book or get at least get availability with # of miles and taxes if there are no miles in the account, online for star alliance. ? dont want to trnasfer in 60k miles for nothing if the taxes are too high, want to fly business class from mia=zrh on Swiss air. Have been on hold on the phone endlessly

I took a look at MIA-ZRH on a random date and taxes/fees come out to $578 one way in J and $199 one way in Y.
I highly recommend only booking UA, AC, and SAS for Asiana rewards from US-Europe, especially if booking in J. They are the only ones that don't have fuel surcharges. The fees on these range from $50-150 one way in J vs $400-600.
