Asiana Aircrafts
Hi I am new on this forum. I am trying to find out what aircrafts are flying from ORD to ICN. We are flying out on the 4th of July and I am trying to figure out what kind of plane we are flying on. I hoping it is the aircraft with the lie flat seats since we are flying business class. It will be a long haul flight since it is 14 hours. Has anybody flown on this flight recently? I am praying it is not those angle flat seats.

It appears to be the 772 with the 262 seat configuration which means business class is 2-3-2. It is not the newer Smartium Business class seats. It appears to be angle flat seats.

ICN-ORD route is on the old 3 class 777, but sold as 2 class. This means if you purchased your C tickets, rather than mileage redemption, you may be able to ask to be seated in the 1st cabin seats, which are full flat, not the angled flat of the business cabin seats.
service and food is all business, but the seats are different.

Instead of DFW-LAX-ICN, I went DFW-ORD-ICN.
The F suite was indeed nice but wasn't substantially better over the old F to justify such a routing IMO.

Me thinks the flight time from DFW-LAX-ICN is roughly the same as DFW-ORD-ICN. If you went DFW-JFK-ICN then new story

I just flew this route in the angled-flat. While not as nice as Smartium, it was plenty comfortable and service was excellent.

right now Asiana uses its relatively new 777S HL7775 and HL7791 on its Chicago rotation, these two aircrafts are new but fitted with old business and first class seats.
starting later this year Asiana will use aircrafts that is fitted with new lie-flat business class seats on two weekly of its Chicago route

Perhaps the 777 that was used on the ICN-LAX flights will now rotate to ORD for a few flights each week?
