BKK-ICN - OZ or TG

I am planning to fly BKK-ICN route.

TG will be on B777-300 which I am quite familiar and should have AVOD on Economy or B777-200ER (which is continuing to LAX), so I guess it shold have AVOD also in Economy.

But quite tempted on OZ price. But notice also, it seems OZ flying different aircraft, B767, A333, and B777. Read somewhere that their B767 does not even have PTV in economy. Anyone can validate this?

So out of these 3 aircraft which one should be the better one?

So should I fly TG or OZ as I never fly OZ ever.

Seems that the OZ 767 does not have AVOD in economy, but only for biz class.

The OZ 330 does have AVOD in both classes. Then on the 777, it depends on which cabin configuration they are using.

If you can, I would consider the 330, then the 777 for the flight. But you might want to double check with other sources what aircraft is actually scheduled to fly on your dates. I selected the 330 for the dates I was flying and after purchase, I went to select seats online and it showed me the 767 cabin layout.

I had this same option but in J on an award ticket. I ended up picking Asiana. In the 330 the economy seats had AVOD, the flight was much longer than I expected so I think having it would be good.

The OP didn't say whether it was economy of business that they were interested in.

I flew both TG A330 business and OZ 767 business in May.

I personally found the TG A330 to be more comfortable and spacious than the OZ 767, which at 185 cm, I found cramped.

The food was about equivalent. More wines were offered on TG. Service was better and more professional on OZ.

AVOD about a draw from what I recall.

No experience with economy. Sorry!

Thanks for all the comment. Most likely I will fly economy, unless there is deep discount C fare available.

I am currently book on TG flight TG656 andf TG 693. My whole routing will be SIN-BKK-ICN, then ICN-BKK, BKK-SIN

TG656 will be on B777-300 which I am quite sure has AVOD

What worry me now, TG693 is listed as B777-200 although this is flight from LAX, and the seat map confirm it is B777-200. From my exprience, TG B777-200 does not even have PTV

I may also buy 2 seperate ticket SIN-BKK-SIN on TG and BKK-ICN-BKK on OZ. Currently TG has promotion ex-SIN. If I have to split into 2, will coz me slghtly more.....

This is likely a 777-200ER and it should have AVOD. I have flown BKK-JNB and BKK-DPS on TG 777-200ER birds and they had AVOD.

How are the business class seats on OZ on the A330 and 767 on the ICN-BKK route? Seatguru shows them both as lie-flats but the A330 having 60" seat pitch and the 767 only having 50" seat pitch. Is there really this big a difference in seat pitch between these 2 aircrafts and can a seat really be lie-flat with only a 50" pitch?

they're angled lie-flats.

And I would rate OZ seats slightly higher. But the reality is that both airlines offer excellent hard and soft standards, especially when comparing to intra-EU or intra-US flights. My preference is still OZ, due to higher soft standards.

Is the difference in J class seats significant enough that comfort should trump schedule convenience? This will be part of a BKK-ICN-ORD-BOS (without an overnight stop) itinerary. The only overnight will be that first flight, BKK-ICN.
