Six hours in Colombo
 

Hello,

I arrive in Colombo from SIN at around 1 in the morning and have an onward flight to DXB at 10am. Any recommendations what to do? Is there a standard procedure by Emirates for such passengers?

I spent my 3-4 hour stopovers reading in some corner or waiting for my onward boarding pass.
There are a few shops and two tiny massage corners where you can get a cheap massage.
Once I was able to use a lounge but the other times they weren't open until about an hour before the flight.

I assume a visa is required to get landside. Are they available upon arrival? For how much?

We'd need to know what passport you hold to answer that question.

Switzerland

Visas are available (I *think* mine was free on my US passport)... but there is nowhere to go at 1am. For a day layover we went to the Brown's Beach Hotel in Negombo, about 10 minutes away. It was a nice place to have lunch and gaze at the sea. In the middle of the night though, I think you are stuck.
