Kuala Lumpur to Singapur by Train
Hi everyone,
been a reader of this forum for a while and appreciate the information. For one special request I did not find an answer so far. Is it worth it to take the train from KL to Singapur instead of plane? How long does it take, do you get to see interesting pieces of Malaysia? Thanks for your help! |
The plane takes less than ! hour,
But I am sure the bus is very cheap if you have the time Rally |
Last year i did the train from Singapore to KL... overnight and in a sleeper but it was not a pleasant experience at all. the flight is easier and quicker and much more pleasant.

The train (with sleeper bunk) was very comfortable in my opinion. I was going from BKK-SIN so I don't remember how long it took but it didn't seem 'long' or really boring at any time... I guess my judgment may be a bit colored since I had just finished a few days of traveling by van through Vietnam and Laos, and had taken the trans-siberian a few months beforehand :D If you're flying economy, opt for the train instead ^

How long does it take by bus from SIN to KL? And where do I take the bus? Never been to SIN, but I'll be there soon and I'm interested in going to KL as well. Thanks!

Singapore to Kuala Lumpur If you are intrrested in spending the least and don't mind the hassle, get to Larkin Bus Terminal in Johor Bahru to take a bus to Kuala Lumpur. It should cost you about 30 RM. |

The cabin has a attached bathroom and shower, but you don't see any countryside. Bus is fatser than train, but customs and immigration are smoother by train than by bus. What I liked about travelling by bus is the stops that the bus makes at rest stops where you can sample local food in Malyasia. |

There are lots of places in Singapore from where buses to KUL depart.
