Cebu Pacific Booking
 

Tried booking a Cebu Pacfic flight...with a US Visa Card.
Used the Visa Verified thing and it keeps coming back declined.
Called Visa and the charge never even went for authorization.

Any ideas on how to book the flights?

CP had a rash of fraudulent charges with US based VISA cards (Australia too) and they quit taking them.
I tried to book flights with them late last fall for Feb. 08.
I finally sent money to a friend in Manila, who then booked them through a local travel agent.
I sent money using remithome.com $10 flat rate. Can be directly deposited into bank accounts of the receiver or they can pick it up someplace, or it can be delivered in Metro Manila at the same price.
(My credit union also won't let me use my card at western union either)

I noticed the same thing last week when my wife tried to book a ticket of Cebu Pacific. You can call them on the phone and they will hold a reservation. You will have to scan and email (or fax) them copies (front and back) of your id + credit card before they will ticket the reservation.

Since I didn't feel comfortable emailing an unencrypted copy of my drivers license and credit card, I booked online at PAL. PAL requires the traveler to have the credit card and id (or a copy of it) when you check in or they may deny boarding.

Anybody flown CeBu...any experiance?

My card(s) kept getting declined till I opted to pay the convience fee.

Flew them once(hkg-mnl)flight was uneventful and landed on time,no complaints.

I have used their online booking system twice without problems. My problem is on their planes. I think they're smaller than most planes. Can't really stretch so much. :(

If it makes you feel any better, I can't book a USA internal flight from Hong Kong - they want a USA address and credit card.

Cebu is quite good, but remember they are a budget operator - flights are very cheap. Very new fleet. They are using the new Terminal 3 in Manila for domestic flights, which is a massive change from the old domestic terminal.

A word of warning, the flights can be delayed. So if you are travelling from one part of the Philippines, into Manila to get a connecting international flight, you might want to leave yourself at least 3 hours connecting time. You will have to change terminals also.

all on very new A319s with lots of legroom (at least way more than on Air Asia), all flights on time, fun and friendly crew.

I would not hesitate to fly with them again.

I had no trouble booking with them with my Canadian mastercard, although my visa did get rejected at first.

They now operate international and domestic flights from terminal 3, no need for terminal changes. And if you do need to change, NAIA has a bus that operates on a loop for P20, but beware, it does take a long time due to traffic

no god if you need to flew domestrically once in the country as you have hours added to your journey transferring from int to dom temrinals

I have flown to/from the Philippines 2 times this year and both times used Cebu Pacific for domestic flights within the country. I also experienced substantial dificulty making reservations, and found their customer service to be incredibly bad. I was stranded in Boracay after the recent typhoon Frank and when I went to the Cataclan airport to get back to Manila I found that the ticket check-in counter for every carrier in the airport was orderly except for CP. Theirs was complete chaos. After being a standby for 2 flights, I finally made it onto a plane. I recommend that if you have a choice between PAL and CP, go with the more experienced PAL. BTW, a friend in Manila told me a story about CP. This is entirely heresay and is NOT confirmed in any way. It seems that right after the airline started operations, they experienced a plane crash with a water landing. So it seems that to Filipinos, the term "Cebu Pacific" means... "Take off in Cebu, land in the Pacific!"
