Bali (DPS) airside transfer, possible?
 

I have 2 seperate reservations
SQ SIN-DPS and then CO DPS-GUM and onwards, there is 3 hours between the flights, both are in business class

now assuming SQ will interline luggage (is it even possible at DPS to have transfer luggage?), will I still have to exit thru immigration (and buy a $10 visa)?

Anyone with DPS transfer experience, although I'd assume its not that common.

i m staying in Bali on the outbound, thus only the transfer on the return

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think it would be rather difficult if not impossible to do an airside transfer at DPS. When I flew there in January, they herded everybody towards customs and I didn't see any sign for transfers. With that said,it may be better for you to simply transfer landside and buy a $25 30 day visa when you enter Indonesia instead because I think this is good for multiple entries.

DPS has airside transits available at the International terminal, though there's not much in the way of service desks there so it might be a hassle if you're on two seperate tickets. I've been through there before when QF used to fly to SIN via DPS (and still do from PER for the time being) and you get hearded through the transit entrance and into the airside departures area of the terminal.

The signage isn't great, but when you arrive in DPS the first time I'm sure you'll spot where you can do an airside transit. Luggage can be interlined through in DPS as well, so long as both carriers support it (was certainly able to interline between Garuda and Qantas in the past for instance).

you can transfer and also go into the lounge as well which is not bad actually, if you do buy a visa they are only valid for 30 days and frankly they are expensive

On the outbound I did see a lilttle transit sign, so it does indeed look possible if luggage is interlined, otherwise its another $10 visa and 150000 dep.tax!

There is transit space and smoking rooms.

Even if you do (for some unforseen reason beyond my knowledge) have to go through customs and then back through immigration to check in, Rp 150,000 departure tax is seriously like 20 bucks. Don't get the 30 day visa, its not valid for multiple entry. And even if you can talk your way into entry twice with the one visa (not advised but can be done) it's still $5 more expensive than two 7 days.

There's a bit of stuff to do there, Ngurah Rai is the best (facility and entertainment wise) airport in the country just because of the Western tourist element - but dont expect Airline lounges etc. Make sure you pick up a carton of smokes for whoever is silly enough back home to smoke, dont pay any more than 100,000 for a carton, ($10). Also - try not to take excess baggage - I can only say - certain people may want to take advantage of the fact you have additional baggage and may request a fee in your passport or an envelope.

When i've flown through DPS to CGK, they never checked my bags in DPS,only when I landed in Jakarta.

Oh, and im sure you dont need to be reminded about any of the drug stuff.

At DPS they X ray every pc of luggage both checked and hand looking for booze to tax you on
