I've been working next to and near the Court of Appeals/Superior Court/Canadian Embassy area for more than 20 years and haven't a clue as to what you would have found frightening in this area.

:confused: Where? The Canadian Embassy? The only place I've seen them has been at the airport. And they certainly didn't frighten me.

I never go to D.C. I was just speculating what might cause someone to fear a place others find perfectly safe.
