Interline Connection at NRT - how to check luggage?
Hi everyone,
I plan on travelling in October to SFO to NRT to PUS (Pusan, South Korea) and back to SFO via NRT. I plan on purchasing the SFO - NRT roundtrip because there seem to be some good fares available right now, and then using a One World reward on JAL for the NRT - PUS leg. My concern is connecting on the return, I'm looking at: JL958 which arrives at NRT at 3:40pm and UA 838 which departs NRT for SFO at 5:55 pm. If I don't have checked luggage, I'm guessing I won't need special arrangement to use the transfer counters and make the connection without clearing immigration? BUT, if I have checked bags, can they be checked from Pusan all the way through to SFO on the two carriers? How would I request this? (I've never done this before! :( ) |
Welcome to FT caliboy888 :)
JAL and UA operate from different terminals at NRT so you will need to either clear customs and immigration or else transfer airside between terminals. http://www.narita-airport.or.jp/airp...ess/index.html As long as JAL and UA have an interline agreement you should be able to check bags all the way through from departure point (just tell check-in agent want bags checked right through). They do this sort of thing all the time. |
