Help - quick transfer at TPE
I am arriving tonight on a Delta flight from SEA to TPE. I then have a flight on Philippine Airlines from TPE to MNL. There is only about an hour scheduled between flights. I’m in first class and have no luggage. How quickly can I go through the transfer area and get a Philippine airlines boarding pass so I don’t miss my connection?
(Note: PAL won’t let me get a boarding pass online. I already tried.) |

If you don't get this, you can try showing your confirmation to the agent standing at the top of the jet bridge and see if they will let you do the same thing. If not you'll have to go through the transfer terminal and go to the PAL desk which is Counter A: https://www.taoyuan-airport.com/tran...unters?lang=en Haven't been through TPE as often as early morning but with fast track for 1st class shouldn't be too much of a wait. |
The Delta flight looks to be arriving on time, assuming you're on PR895 you'll have 1 hour 10 minutes to get through, so it should be ok, and it looks like that departure is often delayed. There's probably by a fair bit of transfer traffic coming in from various SEA flights onto the late night departures to the US, but most should already have onward boarding passes. I seem to remember the transfer desks are pretty quiet at night, so as long as PAL is willing/able to give you a boarding pass you should be good.

Before. There's desks right next to the transit security entrance, although it seems like PAL's is in T1.
That said, Delta should arrive into T2 and Philippine Airlines operates out of T1 at TPE. There's no train airside so it's going to quite a walk, TPE website is showing arrival into D9 which is literally one of the furthest gates from T1. You'd probably be best to just ask the ground staff guiding people towards immigration/transfer where to go. Not sure if they'll let you walk from T1 to T2 before going through transit security or send you through T2 transit security without a BP Good luck! |
Did you make it? What was the procedure once you arrived in TPE?
