Hotels in Jakarta
I’m coming to Jakarta for four nights. For the first night, I’m staying at the FM7 as I get in around 5.30pn flight after 20 plus hour flight.
a local friend has told me to stay in south Jakarta near block m or the Center. I am looking for an affordable hotel for 3 nights. I don’t have the budget for the Saint Regis or property like the ritz. budget is around £30-£40 a night. A good sized room and clean is good enough for me. Ideally around the block m area. thank you for your advice in advance I am looking at the below hotels: Dcozie hotel Amhara hotel Grandkemang hotel Liberta hotel Kemang all seasons Jakarta Tamsin hotel hotel 88 block m b wh paragon wahid |
Cross Hotel 88 because if it is the same chain as in Singapore, it is the lowest level budget hotel where some properties allow to rent rooms per hour - it will give you an idea what purpose it will be used.
In general, my approach is following for staying at non-chain local hotels. Look at Google Maps and Booking ratings. Google maps ratings should be greater than 4, booking - greater than 8. Sort by date and read reviews from last 3-6 months, disregard any reviews where reviewer has a single review only. Look for keywords like 'construction', 'noise', 'traffic', etc. Look at guests photos of a room. That should be sufficient to make decision. Oh BTW, you can speed up your search by feeding specific questions to GPT, like 'I am looking for a hotel to stay for three nights at south Jakarta near block m or the Center. My budget is $50 USD. A good sized room and clean is good enough for me in a low noise environment. I have identified following properties (list follows). Based on internet revires liket at Google Maps, Booking and others, which one of the properties fit my requirements? If except these there are other properties, please suggest.' P.S. Here what Perplexity.ai (pro search) said: Based on your requirements and the provided search results, I can offer some insights on the hotels you've mentioned and suggest a few alternatives that might better fit your needs. It's sparkling clean, comfortable and smart without offering too many frills. Where it really scores is in its very central location, next to the BNI City station for the airport train, just steps away from the metro (which will take you directly to Bloc M), close to a Transjakarta stop and within walking distance of the city's glitziest malls. There's nothing wrong with the FM7, near the airport. But if I were staying some days in Jakarta and opted for the All Seasons I'd go there directly by train from the airport https://urbanistwanderer.com/2024/02...ilink-cgk-bni/. Train tickets are a little over £3 and the journey take 35 minutes or so - although the is a small element of faff in taking the airport's people-mover Skytrain to the airport railway station. |
