TPE transit - CI to BR
 

Hello - I’m arriving at TPE at 5:40 am on China airlines from YVR and departing at 9:30am on EVA for BNE. Separate tickets and no checked bags. Will I be able to just go to a BR desk in the transit area or will I need to clear customs/immigration to check in at the departures counter. Any help and advice is appreciated.

Or you can just check-in your BR flight on-line/APP and have a copy of your boarding pass already - use that to get through transit security, just need a document check at the gate before departure

Yes you should be fine, transit security at TPE just needs an onward boarding pass. Both flights are terminal 2 as well so you won't even need to walk between terminals. Worst case EVA transfer desks are right next to the transfer checkpoint.

I've gone through transit security there several times over the last year and was never requested to show a onward BP. I had it available though, if asked. There is a BR transfer desk in the transit area, I think on the C gate side.

I just completed the transfer. Super easy. There is one point when you are walking towards the transfer corridor where it seems like you are going against the flow of traffic through one of the security areas.

When I got to the transfer desk, I got a printed boarding pass and then headed on through.

The digital boarding pass was quite helpful in Vancouver - they wanted to see my onward travel from Taiwan before I got on the CI flight.
