TPE hotel recommendations

We will be in Taipei in October. Generally stay at hiltons, but none here really suit what we are looking for. Any recommendations for a reasonable priced centrally located hotel with an executive lounge would be appreciated

Sheraton
Palais de Chine

That's actually 2 separate hotels, Sheraton Grand Taipei, and Palais de Chine.
Not too far from each other.

I'll second the Sheraton Grande if you're looking for an executive lounge. The upcharge to the executive floor usually isn't huge and you get some nice benefits. Breakfast doesn't have as much variety as the restaurant downstairs but it's quieter. It may include a laundry allowance too.

I also like Les Suites Taipei (Ching-cheng). They don't have an executive lounge nor an on-site restaurant (breakfast only) but they have some very nice common areas and an evening reception for all guests.

Grand Hyatt. Better location depending on where you want to be based, and nice lounge.

Define "centrally located"...

Taipei City itself is not that big but there is a general East-West divide so it will be helpful to know where you will be visiting. Also matters somewhat which airport you will be flying in (TSA or TPE) and which local transportation method you plan to use if you are flying into TPE.

Agree with this. But I had a very low Corp rate at Hyatt that influenced my choice. I'd have preferred the MO but my rate was much higher since my prior stay.

I'm faced with a similar dilemma.

As much as the lounge as the Grand Hyatt sounds tempting, and the rates are reasonable the reviews aren't so good. Many complain that the lounge is frequently crowded.

So I decided to stick with a suite at the DoubleTree Zhongshan. The reviews are great and it's closer to the airport MRT. Hopefully next week proves me correct.
