Malacca International Airport has vanished?

Malacca International Airport - MKZ, onetime hub for Rayani Air Sdn. Bhd (an airline that only lasted 110 days and had pilots refusing to fly because the condition of the planes - allegedly) has vanished.

It was on Flight Connections at the weekend but is now gone. The airport website doesn't seem to exist any more, and you get taken to a Malaysia Airports web page instead. An article in the Straits Times, reports that the airport is "empty".

Any idea who has taken it and why?

During my 10 years living in Singapore, I've never seen/heard Malacca's airport being operational - did see couple of times driving there but never saw any planes.

There were flights to Penang and Pekanbaru. Was Malindo Airways but became Batik Air.
