YYZ LOP trip 2024

Hello expert flyers, we are planning a trip to Lombok in 2024 and will be flying from Toronto (YYZ). We were hoping for some guidance on the best route and connections. We are Aeroplan members with status but Air Canada and/or Star Alliance airlines only fly to CGK or DSP. We have almost a million aeroplan points so would love to put them to us. TIA

Use your miles to fly *A to and from DPS (not CGK, immigration will be much faster at DPS and you wont have to change terminals to get to your domestic check-in desk for your flight to LOP).
Then buy a separate flight DPS to LOP and back. DPS to LOP will be just a short hop, with plenty of flights, virtually any time of the day.

I'd ignore the advise above. There are no direct flights for DPS to LOP.
I'd fly into SIN - there is a daily Scoot flight to LOP. If this doesn't work, then CGK will be your only alternative - many
daily flights from there.
If you want to spend points, then try OZ or BR to SIN, and possibly the AC flight to BKK, but availability will be difficult unless
you are content with Y seats.

Actually, there are at least 7 (seven) non-stop flights a day from DPS to LOP. Both Citilink and Lion Air fly nonstop between DPS and LOP. It is a 40 min flight.

I would agree with the recommendation to fly into Singapore. Excellent airport and good options for onward connections.

Not sure when in 2024 you will be traveling. Air Canada will be flying nonstop from Vancouver 4X weekly as of the beginning of April. You could fly YYZ-YVR-SIN and take a Scoot flight from Changi. Or you could fly YYZ-NRT on Air Canada and connect to NRT-SIN on Singapore Airlines (I have flown this itinerary), then switch to Scoot after arrival.

You'll likely need to use your Aeroplan points to book a flight from Toronto to Jakarta (CGK) or Denpasar (DPS) with Air Canada or another Star Alliance airline. Look for available flights and choose the one that best fits your schedule and preferences.

Thank you all. I like the idea of flying to SIN and then looking for a connection from there. Here is another possible option we are exploring. Any thoughts? We are looking to go there in April/May 2024.

YYZ - IST - CGK J Class 87k AP Points. Layover in Turkey is 11 hours. There is another J flight same redemption but layover is 1.5 hours.
CGk-SIN-YVR-YYZ PE Class 109k AP Points. 11Hrs layover in SIN and 2Hrs in Vancouver.
No business class flights or decent connections are available for our dates.
We will be taking a flight to Lombok from CGK.

I would grab the outbound right away.
For the inbound, maybe you can find better originating in SIN, and returning via Europe ( either TK via IST again or
LH group).or via Pacific on OZ or NH.
