Aerotrain [KUL Malaysia]
Several years now and still no movement..wonder why cant pax be bussed directly from "remote" gates to the border control/transfer area in the main building ( and vice a versa). Not enough ladders?

Its happening now. All international long haul flights (except regionally on MAS), SQ and Saudia flights depart at the Satellite Terminal and you will be bussed from there. If you're referring to getting a bus for each flight to the main terminals, don't think anywhere does that. Logistics for immigration and such need to push everyone to one area.
Yes, Malaysian residents roll their eyes too for the Aerotrain was never upgraded ever since its inception in 1998. Unlike Singapore Changi's and Hong Kong's airports' trains. New aerotrains for KLIA1 will most likely be delayed some more as the Malaysian Airport Holdings Board just fired the company that was to build the newer trains due to unacceptable delays and costs. Oh well, time will tell.

As Guy Betsy mentioned, the airport operator fired the company that was supposed to supply the train due to unreasonable delays and everything will start from scratch again. I thought I read somewhere that the rubber wheels track for the train was no longer manufactured so they can't use those tracks and a new set of tracks need to be put in. Don't expect it to be up and running within the next year or so sadly.
And KUL doesn't really have airside buses (I can't recall the last time I used a remote gate at KUL T1/T2) so they are using city buses which is not ideal if you have a heavy carry-on.

Everyone does that- from the plane to the bus to the security/ passport control area. Nowhere in my travels I found deplaning at an aerobridge then having to look for the bus stand at c2 gate then taking the bus from the bus stand to the passport control..its beyond ridiculous.
I find your logic perplexing. You'd rather deplane directly to a bus and while carrying all your luggage down a flight of steps, than deplane through a proper aerobridge into a terminal?

I gather you've never deplaned at a remote gate at LAX, where it's basically a shack with an aerobridge leading down to a bus, nor have you dealt with HKG's North Satellite from 2010 to 2022. I'm also guessing you've never encountered BKK's aerobridge gate boarding that leads you down to a bus, which then backtracks all the way to an aircraft parked near where you started. KUL's current bus setup is far from the worst.

On the flip side, some morning MH 737 international regional services do arrive/ depart from the C/ satellite gates.

Yes. Some regional MH evening arrivals do park at the Satellite, apparently to facilitate connections to long-hauls. These frames stay there overnight until their next regional mission in the morning.
