getting Chinese visa in Denpasar?
Hi - I will be traveling soon with someone who holds a passport from Mexico and will need to get a Chinese visa for future travel. We will be in Bali for a few days before his trip to China, and I notice there is a Chinese consulate in Denpasar that seems to be able to issue visas to folks from other countries. I was just curious if anyone here had any experience with the Chinese consulate in DPS and might have any advice to share. Thanks!

Most Chinese missions require you to apply for a visa in your home country, the only exception that I know of is
Hong Kong, which accepts all applicants. You can apply in Bali - let us know the results.

I will if we wind up doing that. The website of the Denpasar consulate says that they accept applications from third-party nationals who have proof of legal entry into Indo. We are only in Bali for a few days, and so I was wondering if it was worth trying that, or just going through the process of getting it at home. I'll report back.

Just closing the loop on this one... In reading more details about consular processing in Denpasar, the estimated processing time is 8 business days. We are not going to be in Bali that long, so we will not get a chance to test out this process.
