Has Anyone Travelled to Vietnam Recently?

According to IATA, "Passengers are not allowed to enter Viet Nam." However, further, "This does not apply to passengers who are experts, business managers or highly skilled workers. They will be subject to mandatory medical declaration and self-isolation."

I'm wondering what constitutes a "Business Manager"? I own two businesses in Vietnam and would like to visit. I sent an email to the Vietnam Consulate but did not hear back.

From what I understand, on arrival you’ll be quarantined in a government designated facility for 14 days. Not a comfortable hotel or housing of your choice (unless you’ve got a lot of clout, possibly.) Contact, recontact, including the Embassy in Washington DC in you’re American.

They are talking about exceptions the government is giving for needed professionals from corporations that have facilities or projects in Vietnam, for example those needed to work on Hanoi’s metro line or LG's display plant in Hai Phong. Unless the Vietnamese government needs you, I'd guess your chances are tiny.

Most of the exceptions given so far have been for professionals from South Korea. About
1,000 skilled foreign specialists are being allowed in this month for oil and steel projects in Quang Ngai province, and about 200 South Korean students enrolled in international schools in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City were just flown in. So there is some flow, but only what the government wants.

Here is an article about the difficulties companies are facing getting needed foreign workers into the country:
