Would someone know the easiest way to get from the Johore CIQ terminal to JHB airport, with a bulky suitcase in tow? How much is a taxi likely to cost and can one get fixed fare taxis? Also, how long is the journey likely to take?

I took taxi from the airport to the DoubleTree, very close to CIQ, a few months ago: 44 MYR airport coupon and 40 minutes in the middle of the day. Grab going from DT back to airport at 5:30 a.m. was 30 MYR and 25 minutes. Not an exact answer, but hopefully close enough.

Grab is your friend there. If possible and if your suitcase allows it, avoid dealing with local taxis which have notorious reputation.

If you are OK to use Grab, do the following: from CIQ Iskandar building take exit towards City Square Mall - there are signs/arrows all over. You need to take escalators down, then you enter bus/train station on second floor. Do not go down (there are escalators), but rather go thru the building. On your way entering the station you most likely will encounter taxi touts, especially when they see suitcase. Just ignore and walk past them like they do not exist.

Cross the train station, continue towards City Square and once you are on pedestrian bridge you will see down on your right hand side Grab big pick up/drop off point. Get there, flip the app and call. Usually car comes in 2-3 min and last time I used it it was RM25 to the airport and it takes about 30 min to get there if there is no traffic.

All walk from CIQ to the City square takes about 5 min.
